Llama Hikes at Earthshine Lodge
You and the kids will hike for 1 mile (about 1.5 hours) alongside some new friends – friendly, furry Llamas! Kids under 5 are free! It’s the perfect family adventure that’s full of one-of-a-kind photo opportunities.

Horseback Riding at Whitewater Equestrian Center
No experience required for these carefree rides through the trails of beautiful Western North Carolina. Horses are gentle and mild-mannered. Kids will have a blast and learn a lot about nature, Native American history, and more. Just 13 minutes away in Sapphire.

Morgan Mills Trout Farm
They’re sure to hook a beauty at this stocked pond that’s less than 20 minutes from Mountain Falls in Brevard. The friendly staff is happy to help with gear and will clean your catch and pack in on ice so you can prepare a kid-caught feast!

Give the kids an up-close look at berry farming – elderberries, honeyberries, and sour cherries. Plus, learn how flowers and veggies are grown. Pucker Up is about 27 minutes away.

The kids will love sliding down this 60-foot smooth boulder and plunge into the chilly pool below! It’s a Western North Carolina rite of passage and it’s only about 40 minutes away from Mountain Falls.

Andy Cove Nature Trail
Give your little ones a big taste of nature on this easy 15-minute hike that loops through a beautiful corner of Pisgah National Forest. It’s the ideal trek for tikes, and it’s just a 35-minute drive from the resort.
